Product Review: Fiber One Meal Bars

In Uncategorized on February 28, 2014 at 2:18 PM

Yesterday, was a full day.  Thankfully, I popped a Fiber One Meal Bar (Strawberry Greek Yogurt, of course) into my handbag before I left the house.  I dropped the kids at school, then headed to the courthouse for morning hearings where it was a lot of “yes, Your Honor,” back to the office where I made my way through about 100 emails and returned several calls, then picked up my oldest and ran him to tennis lessons.  Oh, and prepared two catering proposals as well (cross your fingers we get the jobs!)!   To say I was, “on the go,” all day was an understatement.  I definitely didn’t have time to stop and enjoy a leisurely lunch.  And since I skipped breakfast, by noon my stomach was in need of some nutrition.  That’s where my delicious Fiber One Meal bar with roasted almonds, strawberry flavored fruit pieces and a Greek yogurt coating came in.  It satisfied me until I was able to get home and, finally, enjoy a home cooked meal with the family!

If you haven’t tried Fiber One Meal Bars, let me tell you a little about them. Fiber One Meal Bars are packed with 10g of protein, 9g of fiber and 40–60% less sugar* than comparable meal bars. They are really healthy and nutritious!  My favorite is the Strawberry Greek Yogurt, but you can also get Chocolate Peanut Butter or Dark Chocolate Almond.  Both hits with my kids!  I’ve tried protein and meals bars before, but didn’t like the taste.  These are delicious!   Look for the delicious and nutritious meal replacement bars in the nutrition or pharmacy aisle near other wellness bars and weight management products. They’re available for about $5.49 per box.

I was able to try Fiberone Meal Bars as a Bzzagent and received a product sample from Bzzagent.  All opinions and thoughts are my own.

Little Lady Bug’s First Birthday

I started “pinning” this party on Pinterest before I even had a client interested in it.  And then it happened, a client was going to be hosting a first birthday party for their adorable daughter and contacted me.  I immediately thought of the “Little Lady Bug” theme I had been working on.  Everything I had found so far was darling, how could it not be perfect.  The client was thrilled with the idea, and once she saw photos of some of my ideas was super excited.

This 1st Birthday party was a pool party. The guests ranged in age from infant to grandma, and everything in between.  The bigger kids had fun in the pool, while the little ones splashed in the water tables.  The guest of honor sported a cute red and white stripped bathing suit and lady bug hair clip.  My favorite part of this party was the favors.  The host decided to give little flowers to everyone.  These were great as table centerpieces too!  Each table had a red and black polk-a-dot cloth to match the theme.

Our littlest ladybug had a special smash cake, and enjoyed every minute of it.  And for our other guests, a custom decorated ladybug vanilla sheet cake.

What happened to stationary stores?  Well, with all the party planning I do, someone has to create the invitations and stationary.  I’ve highlighted some of my favorite invitations and paper products here.  Amanda Jean Events can customize your party invitation, and create mailing labels, address labels, thank you cards and favor tags.  In fact, you name it and we can do it.  We can also design an evite for you to send to your favorite friends.  Once I’ve got a party theme down, I usually start thinking about the paper products and how to weave the theme into the stationary.  Please contact Amanda Jean Events for any of your stationary needs.

Tailgating 101

Football season is already underway and we are hosting our first college tailgate this coming weekend!  Here are some of our tips to make your tailgate spectacular!  Amanda Jean Events is available to host your tailgating party, or to create a meal basket complete with some décor to bring to your favorite sporting event.

1)      Have a Winning Menu:  We say keep it simple!  Some of our favorite tailgate recipes are also the simplest:  Hot dogs, brats, burgers and pulled pork sandwiches.  We also like deep fried turkey, shrimp, shish kebob and a variety of salads. Make sure you have plenty of ice and cold beverages on hand.  Of course, if it is cold out, a pot of chili and some mulled wine or warm cider are perfect for your guests.

 2)      Create the Right Environment:  Don’t forget the football and some other yard games.  Popular games include bean bag tosses and horseshoes.  We also recommend tents, chairs and blankets, as well as a portable radio or television.  Decorate your tailgating vehicle with decals and flags with your team insignia, and don’t forget to wear your favorite jersey or team colors!

3)      Invite your friends and colleagues:  Tailgating parties are a great place to mingle and connect with both old a new friends.  The more inviting your tailgate, the more everyone will get out of it!
