Around the World 1st Birthday Party

In Birthdays on February 12, 2014 at 3:58 PM

I fell in love with an Around the World theme and it was perfect for this little tykes 1st Birthday!  Guests ages ranged from infants to Grandparents so we thought of some fun, creative ways to involve everyone.  Each child received their custom Passport to Fun complete with their photo and had a blast stamping all the pages.  Everyone enjoyed marking the map with where they were from with our custom flags, and we decorated with this amazing map bunting banner and smaller map bunting for the highchair and around the drink dispenser.  I also wrapped boxes of different sizes in maps to add different heights to our display table.

Cupcakes, Smash Cake and lots of other treats were enjoyed by all our guests, and the birthday boy, super happy!

Around the World 1st Birthday

This was by far, one of my favorite partys yet!  Around the World We Go!  There were so many ways to actual take this 1st Birthday Party.  But we stuck with a map theme, based on the decor for my little tykes room.  You may remember that other 1st Birthday Party  based on a nautical theme selected the same way.  I found inspiration for the map themed party online when I searched for “globe” invitations.  I customized and created the invitations, then created the map inserts for the envelopes and out they went!

For decor I searched high and low for vintage maps and globes, but came up empty handed.  So I found these teal round paper decorations at Party City, and used them to represent the globes at the party.  I cut the banners from maps and strung them with twine, and then wrapped some boxes in maps for height to display the cupcakes.  For games, I had a US Map and asked guests to flag where they were from!  I made customized passports for our child guests which doubled as their favors, complete with their own photos, and had stamps and pads available for them.

We kept the food simple with finger sandwiches, chips, popcorn, some candy, cake and cupcakes.  I made the cake and even ventured into using fondant for the first time.

I was so happy with the way the entire party came out!  This theme could work for any age party, an engagement or bridal shower, and I even saw it done for a baby shower.  Planning a travel themed party – let us help!

Little Lady Bug’s First Birthday

I started “pinning” this party on Pinterest before I even had a client interested in it.  And then it happened, a client was going to be hosting a first birthday party for their adorable daughter and contacted me.  I immediately thought of the “Little Lady Bug” theme I had been working on.  Everything I had found so far was darling, how could it not be perfect.  The client was thrilled with the idea, and once she saw photos of some of my ideas was super excited.

This 1st Birthday party was a pool party. The guests ranged in age from infant to grandma, and everything in between.  The bigger kids had fun in the pool, while the little ones splashed in the water tables.  The guest of honor sported a cute red and white stripped bathing suit and lady bug hair clip.  My favorite part of this party was the favors.  The host decided to give little flowers to everyone.  These were great as table centerpieces too!  Each table had a red and black polk-a-dot cloth to match the theme.

Our littlest ladybug had a special smash cake, and enjoyed every minute of it.  And for our other guests, a custom decorated ladybug vanilla sheet cake.

Summer Pirate Parties!

This summer, it seemed all our little pre-schoolers wanted pirate parties!  After our successful Jake and the Neverland Pirate party, we decided our next pirate party would be more Pirate, less Jake.  The host of this party picked a perfect splash park for the kids as the party location.  We designed a custom e-vite and with the press of a button the invites were sent.  I loved the treasure chest we used in this party as the favor boxes, and each box contained tons of pirate booty!  For the littlest pirates, we created this custom favor tag and wrapped up the cutest pirate duckies as favors.  After splashing around, the kids munched on pirate themed food and a refreshing fruit salad.  And right before we cut the cake, our very own pirate made a special appearance!

I loved that this party was great for both pre-schoolers and little tykes too!  The location was perfect for family fun, and all the guests had a great time.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates 3rd Birthday!

When it came time for my little pirate’s 3rd birthday, I had a pretty good idea what he might pick for his theme.  So, off I went in search of the perfect Jake and the Neverland Pirate Party.  I created these amazing custom invitations, and custom treasure maps.  Perfect for a pint size pirate treasure hunt, which the kids loved!  Each stop on the treasure hunt was tied in to the Disney show.  First, they got treasure maps, like Cubby’s, which I designed and “tied” with a compass ring; then Izzy’s pixie dust (bubble necklaces), and finally swords, like Jake, which we created with twisted balloons.  At the end of the treasure hunt, the kids reached a full treasure chest, and filled up their treasure bags with jewels, candy, and of course, gold doubloons.  Our party also featured a cannon ball fight, with black water balloons and we hoisted the pirate flag over the playground.

I loved this party, from inception to unwrapping the last gift – and the kids had so much fun, which was the best part.

Dinosaur Train Birthday!

For my son’s second birthday, I chose a theme based on his favorite television program and characters, PBS’s Dinosaur Train!  We designed custom train tickets and sent them as invitations.  I added custom return address labels when I sent the invitations with my son’s favorite character, Buddy the Tyranosaurus Rex.  We made a special All Aboard Banner, and every few letters showcased characters from the program.  We made small gift bags for all our guests, with Dino Cards, stickers and my son’s favorite candies, and also made Dinosaur alphabet cards for each guest.  Our menu for this special event included pteradon wings (chicken wings), herbivore fruit salad, crudite, chips, dips and many other finger foods.  A special ordered cake topped of with a picture of the entire dinosaur family was the special treat!  The highlight of the day, was the ride on train which the children couldn’t get enough of!  All of my son’s friends kept talking about the party for days!  I can’t wait to start planning my next toddler party, and hope it will be for your son or daughter.

This 30th Birthday Bash was set in a private studio that was tranformed for one evening to accomodate the guest of honor and her 30 closest friends.  A single long table was covered in crimson tablecloths with silver and gold details to bring in the holiday spirit during this December event.  Elegant florals and candles were the hightlight of the centerpieces which danced down the entire table.

The guests enjoyed stuffed mushroom and mini beef wellington hor d’ ourves and then enjoyed a buffet dinner which included shrimp ceviche, spinach salad topped with cranberries and blue cheese, chicken piccata and grouper francaise.  The evening was concluded with after dinner cordials, coffee and of course, birthday cake. The host chose a two tiered golden vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting.

When we were approached to plan a First Birthday party, Amanda Jean Events drew inspiration from all things nautical.  This first birthday party exceeded everyone’s expectations for both the young and young at heart!  The littlest of guests were mesmerized with nautical flags blowing in the breeze and colorful decorations, while older guests were confortable watching the splashing from the decks!
