Football season is already underway and we are hosting our first college tailgate this coming weekend!  Here are some of our tips to make your tailgate spectacular!  Amanda Jean Events is available to host your tailgating party, or to create a meal basket complete with some décor to bring to your favorite sporting event.

1)      Have a Winning Menu:  We say keep it simple!  Some of our favorite tailgate recipes are also the simplest:  Hot dogs, brats, burgers and pulled pork sandwiches.  We also like deep fried turkey, shrimp, shish kebob and a variety of salads. Make sure you have plenty of ice and cold beverages on hand.  Of course, if it is cold out, a pot of chili and some mulled wine or warm cider are perfect for your guests.

 2)      Create the Right Environment:  Don’t forget the football and some other yard games.  Popular games include bean bag tosses and horseshoes.  We also recommend tents, chairs and blankets, as well as a portable radio or television.  Decorate your tailgating vehicle with decals and flags with your team insignia, and don’t forget to wear your favorite jersey or team colors!

3)      Invite your friends and colleagues:  Tailgating parties are a great place to mingle and connect with both old a new friends.  The more inviting your tailgate, the more everyone will get out of it!
